
Welcome to Levitate Pole & Aerial
We are a family-owned boutique pole and aerial dance studio in Bayswater in Melbourne's outer east. We offer courses, casual classes and private lessons in pole fitness, aerial hoop, aerial silks and aerial hammock and other classes (specialised workshops) periodically.
Our passion is to provide a warm and friendly community for pole dancers and aerialists in our boutique studio and provide a nurturing environment for our students of all levels to learn and further develop themselves in their pole/aerial journey. We are a gender inclusive studio.
Pole Dancing

Pole Dancing for fitness is an increasingly popular way to get fitter and stronger. Try this fun way of exercising minus the boring routine.
You don't need to have done dancing or gymnastics previously to start pole (it helps but not necessary). We help you develop your skills and strength over time.
Our courses are designed progressively. Each week builds on fundamentals and skills from previous weeks and level(s).
Aerial Hoop (Lyra)

Take your fitness to new heights with aerial arts. Lyra is the next popular apparatus that we teach in our facility. Learn how to activate your core, get more coordinated, build some strength to get into the apparatus . You will learn how to spin, put things together in combos and do poses under, within, and over time above the Lyra.
Our highly qualified instructor will build on fundamentals skills, prepping you for the next level.

Aerial Silks (Tissu)

A beautiful form of art and aerial fitness merged into one. Doing aerial silks can improve upper body strength, range of motion/flexibility and brain function and can reduce stress. It's addictive and it's never boring!
Our courses are designed progressively. Each week builds on fundamentals and skills from previous weeks and level(s).
Please note that foundations of Aerial Silks is introduced within the 'INTRO TO AERIAL FABRIC' course. If you have never done aerial silks before you will need to enrol into 'INTRO TO AERIAL FABRIC' course.
Aerial Hammock

Aerial Hammock has increased in popularity over the past few years. If you like the idea of a fabric apparatus but don't like to work with too much height, Hammock might be just the right apparatus for you. Please note that foundations of Aerial Hammock is introduced within the 'INTRO TO AERIAL FABRIC' course.
If you have never done aerial hammock before you will need to enrol into 'INTRO TO AERIAL FABRIC' course.

**Note: This is NOT an aerial yoga course**
Dance Trapeze

A dance trapeze is a hybrid of a bar and a rope apparatus. It's becoming more and more popular. The ropes of the trapeze are attached to a single swivel, allowing the trapeze to spin easily.
Dance Trapeze is offered only as workshops at this stage and open to students who have had at least 2 years of continuous Lyra or Aerial Sling or Aerial Silks experiences, or at least at Intermediate level in any of the aforementioned apparatus.To participate in this class students are expected to know how to get on and off the bar safely, can aerial invert and can do leg hangs comfortably.
**This class is unsuitable for Intro level or beginners**
Strength Conditioning

Strength & Conditioning (Gym) - a great complementary cross training for pole & aerial. Group strength & conditioning class run periodically as casual class.
Our students have access to use our gym facility during studio hours. Programming by our head coach can be provided if required, at a small fee.

Our studio in Bayswater was custom built in 2016. It's 10 mins walk from Bayswater train station and ample parking is available.
Pole Studio
The pole studio has solid hardwood floors, airconditioning & heating, 40mm diameter brass x-poles, crash mats, a mirror wall and Bluetooth connection stereo.
Can be booked for practice sessions.

Aerial Studio
Has a 7 metre high roof and 9 attachment points suitable for any aerial work. Half padded and half hardwood flooring. There are thick crash mat under each rigging point for safety.
Can be booked for practice sessions.

Gym
This is where group fitness classes are conducted. The gym is also available for booking outside gym class time. For times please check casual classes timetable.


Lili
Lili has been a dedicated pole and aerial artist for 19 years, beginning in 2005. She started competing in 2012, earning 3rd place at APC Battle, and later achieving 1st place at the 2017 Masters Pole Championship Series, 2nd in 2018, and 3rd in 2019. In 2021 and 2022, she focused on the Victorian and Australian Pole Championships. In 2022, she won 1st place in Advanced Silks 18+ and in 2023, 1st place in Elite Silks 18+ at Bend The Air aerial competition. She's also a qualified PT and strength & conditioning coach.

Kate
Kate's fascination with aerial began in 2019 after a trial class for silks. Intrigued by the potential of the human body, she quickly found her passion in aerial hoop and a supportive community. Aerial allows her to unleash her creativity and step out of her comfort zone into competition and performance. With a background in training and facilitation, Kate strives to create a fun and safe learning environment for her students.

Liz
Liz began pole dancing in 2011, combining her 10 years of jazz and tap experience with her gym training. She finds joy and accomplishment in dancing and enjoys helping students develop their own styles. Liz started competing in 2018 at the Regional Pole Artistry Championships in Shepparton, winning 1st place in the advanced category in 2022. She has also competed in Floorplay and performed at The Rockit Galas and Eternity: the Pole Edition. She loves being on stage and helping students bring their performance ideas to life.

Xandria
Xandria began her pole/aerial journey inspired by an aerialist's act at Dracula's cabaret. Motivated by the performance, she attended her first class and discovered her passion for aerials. Xan enjoys creating pieces that showcase her creativity and the process behind it. Her goal is to inspire and motivate others by sharing her love for the sport, combined with her knowledge of dancing, stretching, and strength improvement. Outside of pole and aerial, she enjoys exploring new creative movements, latte art, and creating new drink recipes. Her pet peeve is sweaty hands mid combo/routine.

Amelia (Meels)
Amelia has been pole dancing for over a decade, focusing on dance and performance. She began teaching and coaching shortly after starting and loves seeing her students grow and find their own styles. She enjoys performing and creating memorable shows and costumes. Amelia's favourite food is cheese, she loves her morning coffee, and she will listen to and dance to anything.

Tash
Tash discovered Aerial Silks at Levitate Studio in 2018 while searching for something unique, challenging, and graceful. Despite the difficulty, she finds it extremely rewarding. In Silks, Tash tests her limits and learns to push past them, continually amazed by the strength of mind and body. Although naturally afraid of heights, she embraces the challenge of climbing and trying new routines. Outside of aerial, Tash is an Interior Designer and Martial Arts practitioner, dedicated to helping others achieve their goals, whether it's creating a beautiful space, mastering a good strike, or learning a new drop.
